Collège de l'Île, known for using the latest educational technologies in the classroom, is among the first to adopt this new feature, similar to Google Street View, but adapted for the interior of buildings. For example, last summer, Google and Parks Canada announced a partnership allowing Google to capture images in Canadian historic sites and national parks. Only recently, some of these initial virtual tours were made available on the web.

The College is taking advantage of this announcement to present a new bilingual website which presents a more modern image of the College and meets current website standards. The site presents all the essential information to enable a prospective student to make an informed decision about their choice of program at Collège de l'Île According to the College President, Donald DesRoches, "The College wanted to incorporate photos of the largest possible number of current students and graduates to add to the authenticity of the site, allowing prospective students to imagine success in a college program in French. "

The website also presents various language training options as well as customized training available for the community, government and business sectors.

Collège de l'Île is the only French language post-secondary institution in Prince Edward Island. With three training centres, in DeBlois, Wellington and Charlottetown, the College offers regular programs and customized training with a focus on the labor market training. It provides a stimulating learning environment that makes use of the latest technology while paying special attention to students.
