(Length: 60 hours)
In their work, educators foster the overall development of the children in their care. Students will learn how development follows predictable sequences and stages common to all children, and how each child has a personal rhythm of development and unique characteristics. The focus will be on the physical, intellectual, affectif and social spheres of development. Students will also practice observing, recording and analyzing behaviour and development.
Since safety measures, guidance strategies, the physical environment and the educational activities themselves need to be adapted to the children's age groups, this course focuses on meeting the needs, planning and animating appropriate activities for children 2 years of age and younger.
